Ghanaian Silk Thread Art pieces are created entirely by hand.  After cutting the backboard, the design is pencilled on.  Transparent glue is then applied to a small area of the board and brightly colored silk threads are laid down one by one, partly by skillful hand placement, and partly by use of small metal Y-shaped crooks to push the threads parallel to each other.  The end result is an interesting new style of “painting” with an almost three dimensional texture.

Pan-African Connection Bookstore, Art Gallery and Resource Center was established in 2000 and specializes in books on the history, health and forward movement of African (Black) people. PAC has one of the largest galleries of African Art in the world.
