The peeping head in the top right corner is considered an homage to Klimt’s ‘The Virgin” which displays the invertibility of passing youth and beauty of women. Although the figure contrasts the work of Klimt, closed in an slightly hidden, she signifies fading memories and identity.

Cindy Nguyen is a Vietnamese-American artist born in Denver where she now works and resides in Dallas, Texas. After a few illustration jobs during her college career, Cindy switched her focus to gallery work where she exhibited in 500X Gallery, Moody Performance Hall, Latino Cultural Center, the Oak Cliff Cultural Center, and Bath House Cultural Center. While only producing a handful of paintings per year, her work is inspired by the cinema of the subconscious and her mother’s mental illness’. With a splash of vulnerability, discoveries, and the interlocking layers of wonder, she uses douses of colour and the suspension of euphoric drapery to surround her subjects.
